Ryan Davis grew up in Kennesaw, GA and played baseball at East Cobb until he went off to college. A strong work ethic and passion for the game was instilled in him at an early age by his father Sammy Davis, who was a 2nd round draft pick to the Cleveland Indians. After playing four years in college as a middle infielder Ryan turned this passion into coaching. He started working at a facility doing private instruction and coaching a 12u team in which he coached them all the way until they were 18u. This group produced 14 collegiate athletes and 1 MLB draft pick.
Jarrett Northcutt, Founder and CEO of Smartense Training, was looking to grow his business and was put in contact with Ryan. When Ryan received the call and after several meetings, it was a no brainer for him to make the move to Smartense. Jarrett and Ryan played middle infield together in college, so it was an easy transition. In Ryan’s second year at Smartense he was promoted to President and COO of the company.
His experience, passion for the game, and ability to develop young athletes has led him to the success he is having today.

Bobby Rednour
Head Baseball Coach - 13u, Pitching & Hitting Instructor
Braeden Lane
Head Baseball Coach - Hitting Instructor
- 2018 Bachelor of Science degree, Middle Tennessee State University
- 2014 Volunteer of the Year, Cherokee County, 15U WPB Braves Coach
- NASM Certified Personal Trainer (2013)
- Travel baseball coach in Atlanta area since 2013
- Focus on biomechanics and physics of an elite baseball swing
Braeden grew up in the Alpharetta/Milton area playing first base and pitching for a winning travel team. He played high school varsity for Crown Knights leading them to top 4 finishes twice in the Home School World Series in Orlando, Florida. He committed to Covenant College near Chattanooga, Tenn., to play baseball for the Scots, where he led the team in home runs as a freshman despite having half as many at bats as the starters. His bat aided the team to a playoff appearance in the NCCAA Championship.
As a sophomore, a shoulder injury cut Braeden’s playing career short, so he transitioned to coaching. Analyzing major league hitters, Braeden studied tirelessly how the body moves in relation to an elite hitter’s swing and now utilizes methods to replicate that movement in young hitters. He strives to erase bad habits and develop good habits through a unique and specialized regimen of movements and video analysis. Braeden can fine-tune hitters to correct their swing flaws that cause contact inconsistency, timing issues, or slow bat speed. The result is a more consistent swing plane, more bat speed, and a higher level of efficiency in terms of timing, accuracy, and power.
His level-headed approach to coaching creates a cohesive team where everyone works together. His goal as a coach is to help his players integrate the mental and physical aspects of baseball so each player can reach his potential in his individual position on the field.
